I am working in an office that has it’s busy and quiet times, being very efficient leaves me with a lot of spare time at quieter times ! Does any one have any suggestions?

Careerwise: Pursue a credential. What high paying (and more busy) job would you like? What type of letters does the person who has the job have? Get them.

Otherwise: Learn/say Tehillim. Don’t visit this site.

I am writing this on my officially approved break.

The short answer. You are not allowed to do your own things while on your employers time. If you dont have so much free time, speak to your manager about getting you more responsibilities, along with a salary increase that comes along with the increased responsibility.

Anything else, is outright theft on your part, unless they sanction downtime and let you learn, eat, browse the web, shmooze on the phone etc…

If you are working at a desk most of the day, chances are you aren’t getting too much physical activity.

There are exercises geared towards the office setting. They are really good, and it’ll make you feel more energized as you about your day. In the long run, it’ll keep you healthy.

Here are just a couple links to give you an idea. Good Luck, and Have Fun!

Are you complaining or just stating? Because as you might already know i am “bored@work” as well. It is pretty quite now. So I am wondering if you enjoy or dont like the peacefull boredom in the office.

bored @ work- i enjoy my office job, i have things to keep me occupied while things are quiet like Tehillim, books, but i’m not always in the reading mood! i don’t have much company around, so that’s what makes it hard.

Yoshi- thankyou for your suggestion – i’m lucky to have a gym close by, i go in my break!

Let me just warn you… I know somebody who was in a office and there wasn’t enough work for her to do. Having nothing else to do, she started talking to other people in the office (including boys) and saying jokes (including not such good jokes). In the end, she was asked to leave.

If you have nothing to do, try to clean your desk or type something that you think will be helpful to the office/company.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T DISTURB OTHER PEOPLE’S WORK AND REMEMBER THE TZNIUS ISSUES.

I used to work in an office where there were people constantly on different sites, ignoring their work. It was the type of place where ‘get ur work done, no one bothers you’. It is really a breach of trust to type away at a computer while u r getting paid to WORK.
