Israeli soldier kidnapped by Hamas has been released, IDF says. From CNN’s Amir Tal and Pierre Meilhan
———-
“Released” means Hamas voluntarily let her go. “Rescued” or “Freed” is what happened. Idiots. Biased.A female Israeli soldier who had been kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 has been released during ground operations in Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said Monday.
October 30, 2023 3:22 pm at 3:22 pm #2235804FerdParticipantAt least be realistic.
This is what their article says (not edited one word)
A female Israeli soldier who had been kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 has been released during ground operations in Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said Monday.
“Overnight, the soldier PVT Ori Megidish was released during IDF ground operations,” the IDF said in a statement, adding, “the soldier was medically checked, is doing well, and has met with her family.”

AND THIS IS WHAT THE IDF TWEETED:
She is home.
PVT Megidish was abducted by Hamas on October 7. Tonight, she was released during ground operations.
Ori is now home with her family.
Don’t blame CNN when the IDF used the word “RELEASED”.
FACTS MATTER

She was freed and rescued
This one is probably a poor google translation
If you’ve ever been to Israel, you know that they are very stubborn about failing to use English speakers to do proper translations.October 31, 2023 1:05 am at 1:05 am #2235873BaltimoreMavenParticipantFerd
Israeli soldier kidnapped by Hamas rescued during ground operation, IDF says
From CNN’s Amir Tal and Pierre MeilhanA female Israeli soldier who had been kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 has been rescued during ground operations in Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said Monday.
An Israel Defense Forces spokesperson said they initially misspoke when they said she had been released from Hamas.
The IDF noted earlier Monday that “the soldier was medically checked, is doing well, and has met with her family.”

October 31, 2023 1:07 am at 1:07 am #2235895FrumWhereParticipantI think the it’s a translation issue. In Hebrew, released and freed can use the same word
October 31, 2023 1:07 am at 1:07 am #2235899BaltimoreMavenParticipantYou are wrong.
They changed the headline to reflect that she was rescued not released. Never buy the spin.
Israelis are notorious for using poor English.October 31, 2023 5:04 pm at 5:04 pm #2236211RockyParticipantI received another doozy form the NY
“Analysis: Israel has made it deliberately hard to tell what is happening in its ground assault.”
Duhh. I can’t imagine why the IDF would not share their attack strategy with the NY Times. Even if the NYT would promise to keep a secret (between good friends) it is generally not wise to let the enemy know exactly what their plan is. What a bunch of idiots.

It’s worse. NYT idiots are publishing detailed maps of the exact locations of IDF positions and equipment. That’s aiding and abetting the enemy
