I urge all Jews to get a valid passport, and as soon as possible.

If you already have a valid passport, then do not allow it to expire.

If you do not have a valid passport, then you must apply for a new passport as soon as possible, because the application process takes a very long time, and it can be confusing and frustrating.
You cannot just walk into a Post Office and get a new passport soon after, as was done in the 1990s.

You will need your original Birth Certificate, because copies will NOT be accepted!
I believe that you can get an original copy of your Birth Certificate here:
    https://www. vitalchek. com/order_main.aspx?eventtype=BIRTH

You must also bring: a Form DS-11 application (filled out), your old passport, your Driver’s License, $67 check to: Department Of State, $30 cash, 2 pictures of your face 2”inches x 2” inches.

You can get a Form DS-11 application by going to:
    https:// eforms.state. gov /Forms/ds11.PDF

Call the King’s Highway Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library at (718) 375-3037 and press [6] for Passports.

Many branches of the USA Post Office have computers that allow citizens to make appointments to get a passport. When you use these computers, you may discover that ALL appointments are already taken at ALL nearby locations. This is one of the reasons why you must begin the application process as soon as possible.

I also urge everyone to get an Enhanced Driver’s License, even if you have a valid passport, because that gives you the legal right to travel by air, if you should ever lose your passport, or find yourself in a situation in which you cannot put your hands on your passport.

As I write this message, I realize that most people will not listen.
But I must try, because (Sanhedrin 37A)
“Whoever saves one person is considered as if he saved an entire world.”

If anyone wants to help combat anti-Semitism,
then I humbly suggest that you go to:
    www (dot) HonestReporting (dot) com.

So far as I can tell, they seem to be doing
very good work with correcting anti-Jewish
    falsehoods in the News Media.

Our great Rabbis taught us that falsely slandering
or falsely accusing an innocent person
is one of the worst sins possible.

From this, we may deduce that saving Jews from
being falsely slandered or falsely accused
is one of the greatest merits possible.

And that is what HonestReporting (dot) com appears to be doing.

And that is one way we can combat anti-Semitism [IYH & BSD].

    Thanks for catching on

New York – jews get shot with gel gun water beads and have their shtreimels knocked over

Israel – Jews get r”l blown up and have rockers shot at them.

Which do you feel safer in?

Unfortunately I wonder if we are steps away from Trump openly declaring that it is all the Jews fault and Jared manipulated his daughter and stole her from him… People here were so in love with MAGA and Trump that for years they insulted and cursed out those of us who were warning about him but maybe now they are waking up to a reality where the limits on acceptable behavior has been demolished.

You would have to be crazy not to feel safer in Eretz Yisroel.

I think I agree, but people shouldn’t be called crazy for how they feel.

Syag, i usually admire your level headedness. How on earth is one safer in eretz yisroel, with the constant threat of terror attacks, government gezeros, and more?

If you’re buying into the non existent pshat of einei elokim bah, no one says it’s referring to safety. It’s referring to hashgocha; Hashem is the one who brings punishments too, and those punishments are more severe in EY, as the ramban writes about the unusual punishment of sdom.

Avira, not a day goes by in NYC where there aren’t numerous violent attacks and shooting .

Israel has crime too; is tel aviv statistically safer than NYC?

Anon, that doesn’t happen in jewish areas, or other low crime areas. Jews don’t walk in danger of gang violence in boro park. They are worried about being harassed for being jewish. But not killed.

Avira, I won’t ride the subway anymore because of the crime and violence. A rider on his way home from work this past weekend was sitting and minding his own business when a deranged man walked up to him, punched him in the face and opened a wound requiring 8 stitches . The mentally ill and homeless roaming the streets and the subway assault anybody, Jewish or not

Anon, that’s a very, very recent phenomenon. I don’t take the train anymore for the same reason, but from the time Giulianni took office until 2020, the s subway was very safe

Are you addressing a condition under which Eretz Yisrael is being conquered and is to become Judenrein, and Israelis without dual citizenship would have a problem fleeing?

If there were problem is the diaspora, most Yidden would move to Eretz Yisrael, in which case no passport is needed (the countries expelling Jews wouldn’t require a passport to exit, and the Israelis wouldn’t require them for Jewish refugees to enter).

Neither event is likely. Those Arabs opposed to Israel’s existence are not especially strong militarily and given Israel’s probable nuclear weapon would face mutually assured destruction if they ever attempted to destroy Israel. In the disaspora, while crime is a problem, it isn’t directed against Jews. While the far right favor policies seen as threatening by most Jews, those policies (e.g. support for religious schools, restriction of gay rights, restricting abortion) are seen as favorable by frum Jews. While the far left (“progressives”) favor policies most frum Jews oppose, their policies are against all religions, not just Jews.

Just to be aware that you can get a passport renewed in as little as 48 hours if you have “documentation” of a near-term trip. Just have your travel agent book a tentative travel itinerary for flights leaving within 15 days (w/hotel res) and that would be sufficient. Even routine passport applications are now being processed considerably more quickly and the Covid-backlog is essentially gone.
