Will this nonstop inflation stop in the near future? Will it ever revert back to what the “normal” prices were not too long ago? What will it take for this to happen…

Deflation is extremely rare in the United States. The last significant occurrence was in the early 1930s. And the last time before that was in the post-Civil War era.

So, $5 for a tray of eggs is the new normal price up from $1.29?

This is all completely in the hands of Hashem. Yes Hashem runs the entire world and has a plan where every dollar of a person goes and how much income a person should make each year. Based on many things. Including his Yashrus in his business dealings honestly or not How much a person really NEEDS to survive and support has family and How much is being wasted on extra pleasures and desires that are not needs and a person can’t expect Hashem to send him extra money for a fancy car or a fancy vacation etc….

Does anyone remember the shocking wake up message directly from Hashem that hit the world when the market crashed in 2008 and everything came tumbling down in value almost being worthless and things sold for pennies?

Message from Hashem applies tragically to todays bad inflation market cause we didn’t take Hashem wake up call to prevent it from happening.

    Shocking message:
Why is the economy so bad today? Why is the whole world going down? For the past thousands of years there was always Avoda zara in the world-from the molech to the baal to the asheira tree etc…-todays avoda zara is MONEY, we are a servant to money, we serve money, we bow down to money, we let money talk & rule us. Thus we leave Hashem no choice but to take it away from us Rachmana L’tzlan. But you can still save yourself from going down. if a person can use his money the right way & remember that it all comes from Hashem & it was just loaned to him (even though he worked for it), then he is the perfect person to continue holding Hashem’s money.

May we all wake up and remember that Hashem runs the entire world and everything belongs to Hashem. Hakol bidei shomayim chutz miyiras shomayim……

Rightwriter……you must have had some really bad eggs for breakfast this AM or your trolling skills are woefully in need of improvement.

As of June 30th , the average price of a dozen Grade A large eggs in the U.S. was $2.86, according to Federal Reserve economic data. This is up about 16% from prices a year ago. The Department of Agriculture has explained that egg prices have risen this year because of an inconsistent supply of eggs due to multiple factors, the most important of which are a major outbreak of Avian Flu (resulting in destruction of hundreds of thousands of chickens), increased energy costs for egg producers and labor shortages.

In the Torah in the Parsha of Shemitta & Yovel, Hashem Guarantees & promises anyone that if they keep these Halachos they will always be taken care of. (either by getting double in the Sixth year or even having extra) Where is Shemitta & Yovel TODAY in the Diaspora? Where can we find this when outside of Israel is not even responsible for these Halachos? The answer is Hashem promises anyone that if he runs his business with %100 honesty (coming to work on time & not even a minute late, never using your office time to check your personal needs or the news on the computer, paying your employees on time etc…) he is guaranteed to always have money & never have the need to struggle to make ends meet. This is where we are holding today, for those of us that have been-& still are- honest, from before the economy started going downhill in the beginning of the century. They are the people that are guaranteed to make it through the economy-even- when it crashes.

Lets all stop being fools and think of corrupt ways we think we can make more money dishonestly.
1)Lets get one thing straight. YOU CAN’T FOOL HASHEM you are a fool if you think you can fool Hashem the ruler of the world
2)Hashem already decides on Rosh Hashana how much livelihood a person will make in the coming year the only difference is Hashem blessed us with the gift of free-will which means in our situation a person can make $50,000 honestly or make $65,000 dishonestly and get $15,000 of damage to Gus house or car or health etc…. C”V THATS YOUR CHOICE FOR YOU TO DECIDE in your gift of free-will. In my opinion I don’t know anyone who would be crazy to go through all the trouble and stress of being a dishonest person and getting to deal with all those troubles when it could’ve all been avoided and both made the same 50K at the end of the year.

    HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY

Gadol what did I say wrong. Now eggs are $5 in 2022. I said I’m 2008 with recession and all it wasn’t the case.

To rightwriter: You wrote wrong. Nonstop inflation never stops, by definition. Current inflation will probably be lower within 6 months. Most economists think the best level of inflation is 2% per year.

Increasing interest rates might increase costs which might create more inflation. Somehow we should increase supply.

Reb Eliezer, the supply might even be there, this inflation could be a manipulation

There are two reasons for inflation, demand pull and cost push. Demand pull occurs when there is much money in the economy causing a higher demand than supply and thereby the demand pulls the price up. However, when costs go up the merchants will increase the price, push the price up to make up for their expense.

Maybe just boycott/avoid many products for a while that arent absolutely necessary even items such eggs, and in turn increase the supply over the demand maybe then things can even out slowly. The problem is people feel they need to have everything no matter the price, oh well pizza used to be $3 now its $5 but gotta have my pizza what can you do! Tray of eggs previously $1 now $5.50, oh well gotta live with the times you know! And then we all suffer.

RebE > There are two reasons for inflation, demand pull and cost pus

Either way it is Biden’s fault (paraphrasing the kid who blames his grades on either genetics or environment – parents’ fault either way).

    #2111086

    RW > Maybe just boycott

This is a good idea, actually used in halakha. In gemora, I think, Shmuel threatened merchants that he will let people to skip some mitzva (was it fish on shabbos, I think I am conflating multiple stories here, sorry), similarly medieval times and also in 20th century NY against a sweet wine manufacturer that raised prices on their wine.

its a very good idea and a sure way to balance the demand over supply issue.

The Magen Avraham in the beginning of Hilchas Shabbos says that if fish is too expensive, one should boycott it to bring the down the price.

    #2111906

Here is what I referred to:
Sukkah 34: Shmuel threatens sellers of hadasim that he will publicize his opinion on less hidurim hadasim
Pesachim 30 – similarly, he’ll allow less mehadrin pots on Pesach

re: M’A R Krochmal (Bach’s student, about time of M’A) actually approved Nicholsburg community ordinance boycotting shabbos fish. From a secondary source, it is not clear whether he was enthusiastic or so-so about this.
