Ethnic studies professors demanded the University of California stop referring to Hamas’ attack on Israeli civilians as “terrorism,” arguing in a letter to administrators that such language endangers students.
“We call on the UC administrative leadership to retract its charges of terrorism, to uplift the Palestinian freedom struggle, and to stand against Israel’s war crimes against and ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people,” a statement from the University of California Ethnic Studies Faculty Council reads in part.October 31, 2023 10:41 am at 10:41 am #2236034

Persons who supported the Nazis objected to referring to the death of Jewish non-combatants as murder. So what’s your hiddush?October 31, 2023 11:41 am at 11:41 am #2236092jackkParticipant
University of California Board of Regents Chair Richard Leib and UC President Michael V. Drake, M.D., shared the following statement today, Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, in the wake of a violent weekend in the Middle East:
Our hearts are heavy in the face of the horrific attack on Israel over the weekend, which involved the loss of many innocent lives and the abduction of innocent hostages, including children and the elderly. This was an act of terrorism, launched on a major Jewish holiday. What should have been a quiet weekend of rest turned into days of unspeakable terror and shock. The violence is sickening and incomprehensible, and as of this moment we still do not know the fate of the hostages. This act deserves and requires our collective condemnation.

It’s past October 9th. The progressive wing of the Democrats who are the biggest and loudest of the Dems forgot and are now linking arms with Hamas.October 31, 2023 2:43 pm at 2:43 pm #2236109☕️coffee addictParticipant

No mainstream Dems have “switched sides”. For obvious reasons, the growing body count of non-combatant Gaza residents is triggering pressure on EY to do as much as possible to minimize collateral damage. The IDF acknowledgement today that they had accidentally bombed a refugee camp with multiple casualties is certain to increase that pressure.
Meanwhile, back in the House, the new majority leader is already trying to condition the aid package for EY to funding offsets, which has NEVER been done for emergency assistance. They may also add in border policy changes. None of these will be accepted in the Senate which means they are deliberately delaying the Israeli aid package.November 1, 2023 8:49 am at 8:49 am #2236373
The Democrats want the Israel aid package to go to Ukraine as well.November 1, 2023 8:50 am at 8:50 am #2236374
What’s a mainstream Democrat? Give money to Palestinians and undo sanctions against Iran only for them to use it to attack Israel and then denounce terrorism after the fact? Joe still wants the end game to be a Palestinian state. They’re peas in a pod.November 1, 2023 10:38 am at 10:38 am #2236404n0mesorahParticipant
