I cannot fully express how happy and thankful I am that the Rabbonim are finally addressing one of the biggest issues in today’s modern world.

However, I have a major problem with having the gathering at City Field. Why does it have to be there? Why can’t the major Gedolim gather somewhere less opulent and perhaps the money being used to fund this program can be given to the many frum families that are in desperate need of money? I don’t really see the point of thousands of people gathering to watch the Gedolim converse. Its not like they are taking part in the conversation. I know that many will answer that by having it at a major complex it shows the importance of the issue in today’s frum world but I don’t believe that’s a good enough reason. It seems pointless to me to have thousands of people watch the gedolim converse when these gedolim could just converse in some big shul or hall.

Maybe they feel that people will get more into it this way and become more inspired and therefore be more likely to follow whatever guidance will be given to them there.

    1. Is that true? I didn’t see any indication that it was going to be streamed.*

    2. Assuming the message isn’t simply a blanket ban, why should it be funny that it’s being streamed?

    * Yes, I know that my failure to see any indication does not constitute proof of lack of said indication.

Zdad -“Since internet is basically banned in Lakewood, why would someone who doesnt have internet want to go”

That’s exactly why some are going – to feel that they’re better than the next guy, even if they don’t have it.

Why didn’t they record it ahead of time and do a video, like organizations such as CCHF do?

    yitay,

In Lakewood you’re not even allowed to say or spell the word stadium. That’s why all the events that are held there are listed as “taking place on the corner of New Hampshire and Cedar Bridge.

I shan’t be available to attend the Asifah, because I shall be busy that day observing Yom Yerusholayim, for the 45th time.

I also shall be busy that day, studying Sepher Shmuel in honor of his Yohrzeit.
