Does anyone know if there are any public bike paths in or near Rockland County that are currently open?

That’s not true, Joseph. It’s not common, but there are definitely frum women who bicycle.

I’m sorry that you feel that way. In any case, the point of this thread was to obtain information on bike paths that may be open. I wasn’t asking anyone’s opinion on my activities.

If you google the term “cycling in Rockland County” you will find 2 or 3 sites listing the multiple trails that are reasonably close. The New York social distancing rules do not prohibit biking or close any bike trails, although in most parts of the state, local governments may restrict groups of bikers that don’t live under the same roof from clustering.

Is regularly biking on the city roads risky?

Biking is great in the right locations and using common sense. There was nebech a tragedy reported yesterday of a bochur who was niftar in an accident in suburban Baltimore while biking on a fairly busy highway (Reisterstown Road) right off the ramps to I-695. Unless you are a really experienced biker, I wouldn’t think of riding along a multi-lane highway without a protected bike lane.

Even experienced bikers get into accidents. Also, you are negatively affecting the Jewish people by using bike paths (or even worse, signing petitions to create new ones). You then force Yidden with kids in minivans to squeeze by in the remaining part of the road, leading to a lot of bitul Torah and mental aggravation from being locked up with the kids in traffic while you are enjoying your ride in gasoline-infested air.

AAQ: I think the OP was perhaps thinking about a quiet ride along a bike trail running through the woodlands and bucolic meadows of Rockland County rather than threading his way among a bunch of Odysseys on a bike lane in Willy or BP

The path along the Hudson River just north of the Tappan Zee Bridge in Nanuet is a great biking place.

Is it back already? I ended up in Vermont while looking for the sign.

@Always_Ask_Questions It will be a cold cold day in Ecuador before I acknowledge that crossing by any other name!

What could be possibly wrong with a Cuomo Bridge?

Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, the Interboro Parkway…
