There is a news website i frequent which allows readers to comment on news stories and within the region of this newspaper are some large Jewish communities and whenever there is a story about one of our communities a lot of people make anti-semitic comments i wont bore you with what they say, some are deleted by the website and some are not, should i sign in and defend the actions of our community or is this a waste of time? there are those who defend us and call out the anti-semites but they are few.
lemme guess- the herald record in Rockland. Its total antisemitic trash.
i think debating anyone anmytime is awesome- go for it.
No, there is not much point in it unless you enjoy it. You won’t convince them, and others who read the debate will see you both as parochial.
There is a difference between the misinformed and the haters. The misinformed can change their views haters not.
Even if you can never convince the haters you should at least refute their claims so that others won’t fall in with them.
All i can say is that if you do then tread carefully. think at least 6 times before you say your piece. those ppl will twist everything you say to make you (and all Jews) look guilty. you dont want to give them that chance. Good Luck!
When my husband was in his late teens he was once approached by one of these missionary types in the street. The guy was going on how yoshke died for everyone’s sin’s, and how he saves everybody. My husband look him straight in the face and told him, “He couldn’t save himself, he going to save other people”?

Sam2 raised a very good point as did mustangrider. If you decide to respond to a comment like that be prepared for some not-so-nice comments.
