Im referring to the constant knocking of Hikind and anyone else they decide to bury. Nobody thinks Hikind is the best pol in our community but why the constant bashing and constant attempts at dirtying his name? There’s no question that this behavior reeks of sinas chinam. In the 9 days its certainly inappropriate to go out of your way to trash a frum Jew. Having a website that many people turn to for relevant news is a huge responsibility. Don’t abuse it.

One could try to set up a “newspaper of record” for the frum community with well education salaried reporters – but it would never make a profit.

This kind of overt bad mouthing has no Makom among us. It’s the kind of thing I grew out of at 17, and it is actual real live Lashon Hara.
There are many stories that YWN did not print. While others mocked them, most of us are here for precisely that reason. What now?

It’s actually only one “journalist” that seems to hold the reins here these days. When he was “only” bashing Satmar most of you seemed to be okay with it.
A tabloid is a paper where the fold is vertical, like the NY Post, as opposed to the NY Times, where the fold is horizontal. So if it is a tabloid in disguise, its a very bad disguise.

The Hikind story was picked up from another media source. The other Jewish news site may be considered tabloid, not this one.
Other than the Lower Manhattan rally, I haven’t noticed coverage critical of Satmar. Here in the CR, the Satmar Shita is extremely popular.
It’s the rally related articles I was referring to where the same “reporter” was terribly biased. I’m still waiting for the promised “bombshell” proof that the rally organizers were behind the forged letter. And bashing a community is L”H.

we need to try and have more ACHDUS. I have said it before and will say it again, others (Latinos, African Americans, Asians)know how to stick together like glue.
We should do the same.
I find that YWN presents their news stories accurately without spinning it. That, in and of itself is very far from tabloid style.
Remember, it IS a news site. So it’s news that will be reported here. It is what it is…
