I’m leaving to seminary in 2 weeks 🙂 can’t wait!!
Since I could only bring 2 suitcases, I figured it would be smart to get stuff that I need to buy online anyway shipped straight to the dorm, but international shipping costs are obviously insane… so I need an Israeli website which is decently priced (similar to Amazon?).
If anyone could help me out that’ll be great!
Have a wonderful everything 😉

August 8, 2013 7:37 am at 7:37 am #970346a.d.m.ParticipantMany ebay sellers are really Asian based and have free shipping to Israel. (especially electronics) All toiletries you can buy there and save yourself the weight.

I think she wants it to arrive around the same time or before she gets there. It can be crazy trying to find things in a environment that you are not used to. Also her sem could be in a hard too reach location.
However, you do make a good point about shopping in Israel. A lot of the items can be found at reasonable prices. Try asking teachers and other sem girls where to find items. Most schools in Israel give time off during the week to allow students to take care of things. Also if you have relatives or friends that live in Israel you can ask them.
Have a great year in Israel. Don’t waste your time there. It should be the best year, so try to get as much done as possible.

Learn well.

August 11, 2013 9:50 pm at 9:50 pm #970352nannyMemberThanks everyone.
I hear Israel is a pure rip off though, so could you please recommend a department-store type of place that has good prices which isn’t hard to get to from Ramot.
Thanks.

“So ummm…. until when can I return this peice of gold jewlery”
“2weeks”
“U SURE?”
“Of course!”
*buys it*
(3days later)
“I want to return this”
” sorry, 24 hour return policy only”
“SINCE WHEN?”
“Since the store opened
(True story btw)
Plus in most cases, you cant even return at all. Most stores do not let returns there

What kind of lashon hara/narishkeit is this?
If you spend all your time shopping in Yerushalayim amongst the tourists, then yes, you will find the more expensive prices. Real Israelis do not buy their household items in the same places most tourists and Anglo yeshiva bochrim/sem girls do their shopping.
When you make aliyah you will learn this.
August 12, 2013 8:00 pm at 8:00 pm #970356Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantYou gotta find an israeli guide telling u where to go….
Or just get stuff from america, period
