Yesterday the last of the three “boys of Japan” Yaakov Yosef Greenwald, was released from prison! Because of good behavior the parole judge ruled that for the remaining third of his sentence he will not have to engage in community service, as is customary with prisoners sentenced for a similar offense, but will be allowed to study at a yeshiva.

This is such fantastic news, which finally brings an end to this terrible saga, that it should appear on YWN in a banner!

Lets not forget about this, do not do ‘favors’ such as taking packages overseas for people, unless you are fully aware of what you are taking.

When asked if you are taking packages for people, tell the truth.

If you tell airport customs or security that you are taking a package for a stranger, how will they react?

They will want to see it, they might ask a few questions.

IF they feel comfortable they will let you go.

    Security will just open it.

Customs is a different issue. There are probably penalties even if you don’t know what is inside and tell them as much. That would be my guess, anyway.
