Look, we don’t all agree about Jews serving in the IDF, or how the situation in Jerusalem is being handled.
At the same time, I think that we can agree that no IDF security guard deserves to get stabbed, or shot, chas v’shalom.
Is there a way to ensure that every IDF military member serving in Jerusalem have a stab-proof (aka slash-proof) shirt and/or bullet-proof top to wear under his or her uniform?
Thank you ☺
Yeah that would def make sense
A better approach is for every such person to be fully trained in self-defense, and to maintain situational awareness at all times, especially when in the proximity of a potential attacker.
Lightbrite you sure are bright
Is the State of srael a poor country where the government cannot afford to buy basic protections for its security personnel, that it needs to resort to private fundraising from overseas supporters?
There are a wide range of Kevlar and similar material-based vests and body armor that are available at reasonable cost and are surprisingly lightweight compared to the versions must of us recall from the movies of operation DS and subsequent actions. There are even some designs that are substantially different from those designed for bullet and IED shrapnel protection best suited for knife attacks. some security guards where them but not all. Perhaps a policy issue for consideration as to deployment.
