I know there’s organizations that handle this, just don’t know which. I’m thinking this is the type of chesed I would be good at. Can someone point me in the right direction?
They put cameras to spy on people on the behalf of the government?
That went out in 1984
I think it’s OHEL or Misaskim.
By using the volunteer match portal…it’s a dot org
you can get to: Jewish Community Services offers the opportunity to serve your community through “Jewish Big Brother Big Sister Program”.
Misaskim, lot112, is big brother? Aren’t they more like Chesed Shel Emes?
Part of their chesed to yesomim under their “Yedid 2 Yedid” program.
It’s good to be aware there’s a big difference between “this is the type of chesed I would be good at” and “this is the type of chesed which would make me feel good”. There are plenty of people who would be very good at it who aren’t interested, and plenty people who are desperate for a ‘little brother’ to look up to them but who might not actually be a good mentor/example. Just something to think about
