First of all, is it allowed? Do we find any of our post-Terach ancestors owning pet rocks?
On Shabbos, it is probably Muktza unless you do something to it. Otherwise, if it is small, perhaps you may not even pet it.
Are you allowed to talk to it? Perhaps you may say anything other than Atta Yeledetani. What if it is older than you?
If you get angry at it are you allowed to throw a stone at it?

I used to have a pet rock, but the local pet shop charged a lot for rock food so I had to get rid of it. Luckily, one of my neighbors was looking for a pet, so I didn’t have to turn it out on the street.
