    God is my employer.

And God arranged it so that my paychecks come through working as a Biostatistics Professor at a medical school.

I am wondering what would have happened if I said this to my shver (at the time future shver) when he asked me how I plan on supporting his daughter?

“Someone once explained it to me.

You are NOT an accountant (or whatever else it is that you do…). First and foremost you are an eved Hashem. Therefore, you are an Eved Hashem who WORKS IN ACCOUNTING. So I guess if anyone asks you, just say, I work in [fill in whatever it is you do that gives you parnassa] rather than I am a [whatever you do]…

With that said, I am an Eved Hashem, and I find extreme fulfillment as an educator, i.e. I teach for a living… and I LOVE it!”

Bubbysit, of course. I am retired (though I still work one night a week), as is my husband who taught special needs children for over 40 years, and our greatest nachas is when we get to spend alone time with our aineklach. There is nothing in the world to compare to that joy.

    I’m a comedian, last night I made a joke.

The audience found it so funny that they lost control (namely by banging me on the head).

Heck, if that’s the case, then I’m a cook too as I do so whenever I get a chance.

The Wolf (who still remembers being told on these boards by one poster that it is assur for a man to cook).

Why is it assur to cook shrimp?

You’re right I meant cooking and eating. Although cooking non- kosher food lchatchila could be problematic but it’s not ossur medina.

My former boss used to ask me that question fairly regularly. I’m starting to think that may have had something to do with his ending the relationship. 🙂

    #1119704

    I don’t.
