November 11, 2008 Subway Restaurant
Effective November 11 2008, Subway Restaurant, located at 28 Water Street, New York, NY, will no longer be certified OU Kosher.
Sad it is, but it’s kind of hard to stay in business when you are selling a $15 sandwich that is going for $5 in every other Subway in America (except for nine, of course) including the shops just down the block.
Downtown kosher restaurants are just not sticky. They don’t get any dinner business – I don’t see how any of them can make it on 1 hour a day.
