The Rabbenu Bachaya explains that we should see all Jew as tzadikim united and when counting them, we separate the rest from the group and good and the bad can be discerned, therefore ch’v a plague can befall on them as the mashchis takes over who does not discern any more and the whole group will be judged. Together the good influences whereas separated the bad influences the rest of the group realizing that it was part of the group, so the whole group must be bad.
David Hamelech miscalculated figuring that the Machtzis Hashekel is a temporary kapara on the sin of the Eigel and just required for the building of the mishkan but it is required whenever we count the Jews. Also, the machtzis hashekel was even more required to keep the group together for the good as the count was made with no purpose.

The Rabbenu Bachaya above explains the wording siso meaning either to elevate through counting with machtzis hashekel or off with the head, counting without it. We find similar expressions by the sar hamashkin and sar haofim.

If we count Jews directly brachas are not chal, cleave on, so David Hamelech instituted to say 100 brachas every day to remember not to count the Jews directly as then they will be blessed.

Instead of just counting your way up towards a person supposed to make 100 blessings a day, why don’t we take it up a notch and really count our blessings? Meaning look at everything Hashem has blessed and continues to bless us with non stop. From a beautiful family to great Health to a beautiful amazing world of technology that no one ever thought these technologies would exist if you asked them just 100 years ago….. I could go on and on but each tiny thing Hashem blesses us with us so amazing we just need to STOP TAKING EVERYTHING FOR GRANTED. Of course it’s not our fault cause it’s completely human nature to take things for granted and get used to things for free etc…..
Even a disposable plastic cup that cost less then a penny is made with wisdom, from the lines to help you have grip so it doesn’t slip from your hand to the rounded rim on top so you don’t cut your lips etc….

LET’S START COUNTING OUR BLESSINGS TODAY AND THANKING HASHEM WHOLEHEARTEDLY FOR EVERY WE ARE GIVEN AND SUCH A BEAUTIFUL WORLD HASHEM CREATED

Look at the human body how it is functioning in unison as described by the Shaar Habechina of the Chovas Halvovos. The Rambam explains in the 4th Perek of Shemona Perokim about the balance (sugar, cholesterol) the body maintains in order not to get sick.
