Any ideas for a dvar torah to be said by a kiddush for baby girl?
I’m willing to bet @popa_bar_abba has a few.
Though I personally think it’s rude to get up and say a D’var Torah at a kiddush. Just let people eat their chulent and speak loshon hora in peace.
A baby boy gets a Sholom Zochor, but not a baby girl (by Ashkenazim). Because somewhere a boy was born that the bas kol said this girl will marry him. That boy had a Sholom Zocher, and Ishto K’Gufo, this girl wasl was “yotzeh” with her future bashert’s Sholom Zochor. May she grow to marry a Ben Torah, CHupah and Maasim Tovim. Shabbat Shalom!
My rav finds something in the weekly sedra to tie into the simcha.
The Chasam Sofer says that having a girl is greater than a boy because by a girl you can choose to marry a talmid chacham but not by a boy to be one.
