    Just to clarify the second question, in case wasn’t clear from my previous post, the reason why the G”SH is better than the diyuk, is because the G”SH is pe’as pe’as mibnei aharon. Unlike facial hair, women have real peyos just like men do, and still they are pturos from bal takif. So it follows that even if you consider the facial hair of women to be a real zokon, nevertheless the G”SH still paturs them from bal tashchis, just as they are patur from bal takif because of the drasha bnei aharon vlo bnos aharon (which, according to Rashi, at this point the gemara feels applies to bal takif, as well).
