    These days kollel couples receiving substantial financial support from in-laws/ parents seem to be getting a lot of bad rap.

    #1: What exactly is it that irks people about such a situation?

    #2: If you are a kollel family living without financial support whatsoever please say so. I think people don’t realize how many families/ couples there are like that out there.

    Please also explain what motivates you to live the lifestyle you are living.

    It doesn’t get on the nerves of other than a small subset of people. And it’s none of their business anyways unless they are paying for it. And if they are they agreed to it.
