Tonite is the 243rd Yohrzeit of the famed Korban Nesanel, who wrote the main Peisush on the Rosh for Mo’ed & Noshim. He passed away on Nisson 30th, 1769

I & my children have the priviledge of being descended from the Korban Nesanel. Is there anyone else out there in the coffee room? who is also descended from the Korban Nesanel.

Hi although I don’t think my wife or myself are related to the korban nesanel (her family is from germany originally so who knows) we had a baby on nisan 30 and bla”h it is our 7th and we bh have run out of names. I was perusing the internet for yahrtzeits of gedolim and lo and behold it was the korban nesanel’s a name which my wife likes very much (and a peirush which I like very much, obviously he soesnt need my haskama in any way shape or form). As I read further I see there is some question as to whether the yahrtzeit is nisan 30, which would be very interesting to name him after such a gadol born on the yahrtzeit or iyar 15. Do you have any information as a relative? Thanks

Hearty Mazol Tov to you 7dwarves upon the birth of your 7th kid, on Nisson 30th, on the 243rd yohrzeit of my 8th Generation ancestor. Despite your name 7dwarves, I assume you have no connections with Snow White.

Our family records say he was born in 1687, and passed away @age 82, Sunday May 7th, 1769, which was Nisson 30th.

I just took a peek on Wikipedia, and it also gives date of May 7th, 1769, and Wikipedia certainly did not obtain their info. from my family records. You can even see a picture of him on Wikipedia, as well as read up some of his resume.

Maybe your wife is descended/related to the Maharam m’Rothenburg or/& Mahari Miy’Weil, since the Korban Nesanel himself is descended from both of them.

Please keep us informed, if you end being Mechabed my ancestor & your 7th child, with this name of Nesanel.

Iyyor 15th is the anniversary of Moshe Rabbeinu’s composing of the 1st blessing in Birkas haMozon, upon commencement of the Mon falling down.

here’s a quote from that article:

“With regards to the exact date and time of Rabbi’s Weil’s ‘petira’, Mr David Seldner contends that there are differences between the local council’s version and the universally accepted version. The date on the Korban Netanel’s tombstone is 7.5.1769, which was on a Sunday (30 Nisan 5529, Erev Rosh Chodesh Iyar). However, according to Jewish sources, he was niftar 15 Iyar 5529, which was the 22 May 1769 and was on a Monday. To compound matters further, it is a well-known historical fact that Erev Shabbos was the day he was niftar. In fact, the levaya was attended by many gentiles, who regarded him as their ‘wunder-rabiner’.”
