As my schedule has changed, not leaving me enough time to go to the gym, I’m looking for an exercise video that features only men (as I am a man). Anybody know of any good titles. If there is one put out by frum people (maybe from israel) that would be best.

    Thanks

Scott Sonnon’s material is excellent, innovative and generally only has him in the shots. He’s got everything from graduated body-weight material (Into Flow) to weights (any of the clubbell material), flexibility, balance, strength and endurance training. You really can’t go wrong.

Anuran-Thanks for the answer but Scott Sonnon’s seems to have ladies on it. At lease “ageless mobility” looks like it does from their website.

Bombmaniac-Thanks. Does galpaz have an english website? if not i guess i can try the boro park store.

Ageless mobility might, but there are others which don’t.

Scott’s a very obliging and helpful guy. If you email him and explain your needs he’ll certainly tell you which ones are appropriate.

If a CD would be OK, try J-Walking. I have #2 and it’s great fun. I think it’s the Neshoma Orchestra.

He may be a nut job, but a number of Richard Simmons’s videos don’t have women in them, and are pretty good excercise videos.

My kids have been begging me for years to get the Dance Dance Revolution for fun & exercise, but they all have goyish music (with the lyrics!). I heard somewhere that a version came out without words at least. Does anyone know anything about this? I would still want to check out how goyish the music sounds, but at least it stands a chance without the lyrics. I really wish someone would come out with a Jewish music version.

The one I used to own did not have words. Most of the songs on there I didn’t recognize. I enjoyed it a lot. It was the cheapest one I could find. I bought it online. It was the kind that hooked up to a tv and didn’t need a special game console.

torahmom – i bought 2 dancemats on ebay for 15 dollars for both of them! i plug them into my computor and i downloaded a free program called stepmania (it’s like dance dance revolution). you can put tons of wordless songs – the type that are JUST dance music and don’t even have lyrics that go to them! i love it! it’s a great and fun way to exercise!!!

striving-does it still have all the goyish girls dancing in the back?

youngbutnotstupid: Do you mean to say that there are pictures of girls dancing on the Dance Dance Revolution games? I thought it just had lighted arrows flashing in time to the music. I was just worried about the music – I didn’t even consider pictures!

striving: where can I download the stepmania program from?

    #1070782

ya, they do have goyish dancers but i was just speaking 2 anouther friend who said there was an option to remove the dancers.

As I said, the one I bought was very cheap (about $35 or $40). It didn’t have anybody dancing.

lol i don’t know what you guys are talking about. there are NO dancing ladies on my game!!! there are innocuous backgrounds and arrows that light up! go to stepmania.com to download the program and then you have to download song packs. i bought my dance mats on ebay. This is a link to those type of dance mats: http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Dance-Dance-Revolution-DDR-Dance-Pads-for-PC_W0QQitemZ320392184599QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Accessories?hash=item4a98dcc317

if you need more specific instructions for downloading stuff let me know.

on the stepmania website, the safe songs to download are the winner songs on the left panel. any other user downloads i can’t vouch for.

    #1070785

cool!! thats really good news!! i’m going to talk to my mother!!!!!!

    #1070786

i dont get it. is stepmania free? and once you down load it, you have to seperatly download the songs? and once you have it you always need internet? i was looking for all this info on their website but can’t find anything.

    #1070787

youngbutnotstupid – hey i’m so sorry i didn’t get back to you sooner.

stepmania is totally free. it doesn’t come with songs – you have to download them individually or in packs from the website. you don’t need internet forever to use it. for example, in my house, i downloaded it onto a flashdrive and now use it on a computer that has absolutely no internet connection.

    Any more questions?
