Do you have any experience eating Kosher food at a Disney World Resort?
Disney World provides Kosher meals at their resorts upon request. Last time that I was at Disney World theme park, the Kosher meal consisted of a microwaveable hot dog and some latkes. Hopefully, their resort food is fancier and healthier.
Wondering if anyone has relied on Disney’s Resort food? Any advice?
Thank you 🙂July 12, 2018 11:21 am at 11:21 am #1556419zahavasdadParticipant
If you want better food choices, you need to go outside the park, there are a few kosher restaurants in Orlando areaJuly 12, 2018 11:21 am at 11:21 am #1556509☕️coffee addictParticipant
I did but that was 9 years ago, I thought it was ok there’s also that restaurant not too far from disneyJuly 12, 2018 11:21 am at 11:21 am #1556512Avram in MDParticipant
Inside Disney, the double-sealed frozen meals heated in a microwave are likely the best you’ll get. I haven’t been to Orlando in 5 years, and I haven’t been to Disney since I was a Florida resident over a decade ago. There are a few kosher restaurants around, but the turnover is fast and the hashgachos can be confusing, so I cannot recommend a specific place. I am familiar with the Miami-based ORB, and the RCF is Chabad’s north and central Florida rabbinical organization, but outside of them I know nothing. I miss Ole Gourmet in Maitland – it was a repeated stop for us during trips across the state once upon a time. If you want to go beyond the microwaved double-wrapped airline meals, you should probably look into getting meals from restaurants outside of Disney, or bringing in your own food.July 15, 2018 11:09 am at 11:09 am #1558022☕️coffee addictParticipant

Orb stands for orthodox rabbinical board of broward county, miami’s Hashgacha is the KM (kosher Miami)July 15, 2018 11:09 am at 11:09 am #1557998LightbriteParticipant

Thank you Avram in MD!!! 🙂
… based on your helpful info, I’m going to pack kosher food for survival, and maybe eat out someplace kosher in Orlando if/when the opportunity arises… 🙂

The Kosher Grill on International Drive in Orlando serves really good food, offers lots of healthy low-fat options and salads, and has a good hashgacha with chassideshe shechita. It also has a nice ambience and a good choice for a “nice” dinner with the kids after schlepping around all day in the park.July 16, 2018 9:41 am at 9:41 am #1558409Avram in MDParticipant

What does that have to do with the fact that hundreds of thousand of frum yidden visit Disney World every year and want to find a place to eat with good food and hashgacha. My golf-club also didn’t allow yidden on the course until the late 1960s. Does that mean I should spit on the first tee every time I play?July 16, 2018 12:55 pm at 12:55 pm #1558563icemelterParticipant

A website was set up last year that gives information for those visiting Orlando……www.rabbiorlando dot org.
Information regarding kosher eateries and supermarkets catering to the kosher consumer in the Orlando area.
