I remember once hearing someone complain that the extra day came in winter when it should have been in the spring or summer when the weather is nicer.

wolfishMusings got his facts correct if he is referring to the Southern Hemisphere but incorrect if he is referring to the Northern Hemisphere; The Nochrim tagged on an extra day to August making August 31 days eventhough July was already 31 days, to prolong the summer, at expense of curtaling February in winter to only 28 days so as to curtail the winter, totally out of sync with all the other secular months.

This year that happens to coincide with 6 Adar. That evening, the 7th of Adar, the Denver kehillah holds a dinner l’ilui nishmas Moshe Rabbeinu. We hear divrei Torah and pledge masechtos to learn in time for the next year. I love it and have almost never missed it. The only year I did was because it was my first date with the woman who’s now my wife.

Oh, for Heaven’s sake, there are no facts here. I was commenting on the person’s stupidity.

The weather of that day will be the same whether you call it February 29 or March 1. You can pick any day of the year and call it the “extra” day.

Such a beautiful and splendid extra day to enjoy!

    #856670

There’s still some hours left to this special day. Enjoy it while you can! You wont have another chance for four more years.

& Yankie Doodle, won’t have a chance on a Wednesday, until 2040, @ the turn of the 59th Jewish century.

A friend of mine had a girl today. Their 2nd February 29th girl. The older daughter turns 4 (1?) years old today.

Probability of matching birthdays with 4 kids

    Any date: 1.6%

    Specific date: .006%

    Having a kid born on 2/29: .068%

    2 on 2/29 out of 4: .00028%

When does your friend’s 4 year old celebrate her birthday on non-leap years? On Feb. 28 or Mar. 1?

salaried people worked today for free.

salespeople with quotas got an extra day to make the quota.

hourly workers got to make some extra dough this month.

All I want to know is if I get an extra day to get ready for Shabbos. If not, then it’s just a regular day.

How do salaried people work for free? Their paycheck is based on the number of days/week, not the month.
