Just had a quick question. A lot of time is spent on learning lomdas Example: how does shliach adam kimoso work etc… But where in tanach do we have such a concept that there has to be a logical reason. Why cant we just take for granted that shliach adam kimoso works without the “mechanics” behind it. just like we take at face value that the lord created the sun and rested on the seventh day why cant we just take other concepts at face value as well ?

If you don’t know the reason, you won’t know where to apply the concept and where not to.

Sure why can’t a person also just sit back and say I won’t go to work but I’ll put my faith and trust in Hashem that Hashem will somehow send me money to support my family? Ever heard of Hishtadlus in life? Doing your part in something? It works with lots of things not just with a person going out to support his family when in truth we know that all the money actually comes from Hashem no matter how hard a person works at his job for his livelihood.

The Tosfas Rid wiith tbe help of the Ketzos explain the conditions for shlichas. It only appies where a massei,an action is involved but you can’t make a shliach to wear tefilin for you as the lying on the hand is the mitzva. So the fruits of the action transfers from one to an other.
A cute interpretation on שלוחו של אדם כמותו Adam Harishon was punished by being sent out of tbe Gan Eden instead of dying of the day he ate from the eitz hadaas.

The Dagul Mervovoh asks, how can man be motzei the women with kiddush when the men after davening maariv are only mechuyav miderabonon and the women are mechuyav min hatorah? So they answer mitaam arevus, but men to women the Rosh says that there is no arevus. Answers Rebbi Akiva Eiger that on the mitzvas that women are responsible there is arevus.

The Ketzos helped us to understand the Tosfas Rid. Obviously the Tosfas Rid needs no help.

    To the OP:

Let’s replace “שלוחו של אדם כמותו” with another Halacha to crystalize the question.

Why can’t we just take it for granted that the time to light candles on Erev Shabbos is 5:08 without the “mechanics” behind it?

Obviously, you need to understand why the time to light on a particular Friday is 5:08 in order to apply that knowledge to a different week.

The same idea is true of all other Halachos.

Participant, arevus makes that connection between us to be motzei each otber mitaam shelichus even though the chiyuv is not the same as long there is a chiyuv excluding a goy where is no chiyuv.

I don’t know too much about Judaism but I don’t believe being motzi someone works with shlichus. vharaya it only works if they’re obligated. if its shlichaus it shouldn’t make a difference.

Without the Ketzos we interpret the Tosfas Rid that if is a chiyuv shebegufo, one wearing tefiin is a chiyuv on the body which does not turn into the other’s body but one can bind tefilin on the other’s hand.

The Maharam Shik O’CH 120 asks all the questions on the above Dagul Mervovo O’CH 271,2 if it is because of shlichus or shomea keona and why we need arevus.
