“A psychiatric evaluation finds that the man charged with killing 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky, has a personality disorder.”

a personality disorder is no longer classified as a mental illness by the DSM. a personality is a disorder that is developed over a person’s life due to trauma one experiences, rejection, shock, loss, abuse, etc. it is untreatable with medicine. it can be reversed after years of…i suppose therapy would be the best way of putting it…but yea. it is not a mental illness. just making sure you all realize that.

They say he has schizophrenia. Isn’t that a mental disorder?

Many Psychiatrist tend to suffer from DD, Diagnosis Disorder

    (Not associated with ADD)

But don’t you worry yourself, it is completely curable with

    psychoanalysis and Rehabilitative Gravitational Therapy,

    more commonly known as RGT.

It is very affective. The therapy, consists of getting the psychiatrist to go up on a roof, preferably five stories or higher, and act out his childhood fantasies of being Superman.

One session Is all that is needed.

correct me if I’m wrong, but as far as I remember personality disorders are classified under asix II in the DSM-IV. So technically it is a mental illness.

(dont worry, I am not justifying what that monster did. I dont care what psychologists label his as, he is 1000% guilgy in my eyes)

Btw- thanxs for sharing ‘part 2’

Some personality disorders can “allow” a person to commit a crime and actually feel NO remorse or empathy. The DSM IV did classify personality disorders as a form of mental illness.

bomb: The first sentence in today’s Times story is:

The man charged in the murder of an 8-year-old Brooklyn boy has a psychiatric disorder that includes schizoid tendencies, doctors evaluating him found in a preliminary examination

That being said, if he is mentally deficient that is not an indictment against all mental patients. So don’t take it to heart.

Personality Disorder is a vague term which can have several different classifications, many of which are in the DSM-IV.

Axis 2 is a distinction. as opposed to the clinical disorders listed in Axis 1…that was my point

@wolf i wasnt pushing my agenda as much as i was trying to make sure people understand that personality disorders cant really be used to plead legal insanity…
