If Lapid would have become a Talmid Chochom rather than an ignorant and arrogant MK he would have realized that there are times when the best response is no response. Instead he chooses to defend himself from claims that can not be proven one way or the other. As he himself says, “How can you possibly debate someone who think that he knows exactly what G-d intends?”.

Worse is that his rebuttal is foolish and insulting. Foolish – because if I want to change your opinion I have to speak to you through your eyes, not mine. In his arguments he implies that the study of Torah and performance of Mitzvahs does nothing to protect the Jewish people; that it does nothing to merit his son to have Siyata Dishmiya in his post as if a surprise ambush upon his son is impossible and as if soldiers have not been miraculously saved from harm or curiously been at the right place at the right time or suddenly had a sense of “somethings not right”. All of these examples come from Hashem’s divine intervention that we merit from our righteous deeds. This is an integral belief within Judaism. To deny that is heresy! That is exactly what Lapid is doing in his defense response. So who is he speaking to… Chilonim?

Insulting – Lapid quotes a Talmud (as if he ever studies it) and then proceeds to take it out of context. Is he so stupid as to believe that we won’t realize he is doing so? That’s like an 8 year old child telling a math professor from a prestigious University that he doesn’t know math!

I’m sorry, but this Lapid continually burns his own bridges.
