EDITED as per Popa: I made a mistake. This is a different person named Farber than my other thread. This person’s name is Seth, is a musmach of REITS, and I don’t know much about him other than this outrageous article.
I apologize to Zev Farber and YCT for affiliating them with this.
So some fellow Farber has an article, titled “It’s time for the rabbis to defer to women.”
Apparently he is now self-identifying as a woman.
See, the article goes on to advocate that halacha be trampled because “The facts are that while we must meet halachic requirements, we also cannot allow a situation to continue where men are in the mikveh when women are immersing.” Since he is the only person advocating this minus, it follows that the title of the article refers to himself–that he wants the rabbis to defer to himself since he is identifying as a woman.
(I particularly enjoyed how the sentence has two absolute clauses which could easily conflict–and indeed do–, which make it complete nonsense.)
Step aside Rabbah Horwitz, we have real rabbah in da house!

“they are STILL Apikorsim”
Tee-hee!

You would like to be in the mikveh when women are immersing?
October 24, 2014 7:05 pm at 7:05 pm #1036972golferParticipantNo Charlie. You missed the point. There has never been such a situation and there has never been a suggestion that such a thing is permissible.
By pretending that Halacha requires this, the esteemed Rabbi is making a complete beheima out of himself, and a mockery out of everything we hold dear.
I can’t say I understand the other posters either. ‘Tee hee’ing in delight at their clever jokes.
Would you ‘tee hee’ as well to see a Sefer Torah laying in the mud?
This is not a laughing matter.
Where are all the respected respectful posters who were so hurt at the lack of Kavod Torah in another thread?
October 24, 2014 7:14 pm at 7:14 pm #1036973frumnotyeshivishParticipantCharlie: the subject matter here is making fun of the ideas and people (particularly the self proclaimed women) who are trying to change things we believe shouldn’t be changed. Another discussion would be the better place to legitimately discuss such ideas.
October 24, 2014 7:26 pm at 7:26 pm #1036974popa_bar_abbaParticipantCharlie, the article is about geirus, and that is the halacha. The beis din enters after she is already underwater.

As I explain there, the gemara in kiddushin 81 says that rabi akiva used to make fun of ovrei aveirah, so I am just following along with that.

You are not on the madreiga of Rabi Akiva to make fun of anything.
October 25, 2014 11:36 pm at 11:36 pm #1036978popa_bar_abbaParticipantI agree. I am probably not nearly as good at making fun as he was.
