In a different thread, posters opposed exercise/working out because a person shouldn’t “worship” their bodies, or may come to do so, notwithstanding the Torah’s admonition “U’shmartem es nafshosaichem.” So, do these same people feel the same away about dressing nicely? Do you who oppose working out, advocate dressing in ill-fitted clothing, and do they frown upon those whose clothes may be what they would consider too fitted?

You are asking if those who oppose to over focusing on health are opposed to people wearing clothing that lacks tznius. Were you really trying to ask if those in the first catagory oppose overfocus on dress?
February 16, 2015 7:49 pm at 7:49 pm #1060106flatbusherParticipantTo clarify my point, there are those who oppose to working out because they say it makes people care too much about their bodies, namely to look good, and I wonder if they feel the same away about people who focus on the way they dress to make themselves look good.

February 17, 2015 3:46 pm at 3:46 pm #1060109flatbusherParticipantThe pasuk cited is Devarim 4:15, and contains the word “me’od”
February 17, 2015 8:07 pm at 8:07 pm #1060110Little FroggieParticipantHighly doubt it. Check again!!!
February 17, 2015 8:16 pm at 8:16 pm #1060111flatbusherParticipantWhy not open a chumash and look it up? The pasuk has been interpreted that one must take care of himself

February 17, 2015 9:36 pm at 9:36 pm #1060115flatbusherParticipantI stand corrected, thanks. I was looking at Pasuk 15 and see there the word is “V’nishmartem”
