(Besides for Mac’s just being more money 🙂

(for exemple if you want to make a slide show at a family party showing family pictures you will probebly use Windows Medua Player since its more simple to use but a profesional making a presentation for a major event will use a program runing on Mac which might be more complicated but will preduce a superiour result).

I doesn’t crash like the PC did. I have more on time than off time. I don’t have to reboot as often, and there are a lot of short cuts that makes computing easier.

PCs are more focused on providing an overall adequate user experience that allows more modification for more advanced consumers to personalize it to their specific needs.
When I needed a laptop for college, I wanted a Mac, but at the time, many programs I’d be using in class weren’t compatible with it. I therefore purchased a PC, and it has worked well for me.
August 4, 2011 5:03 am at 5:03 am #794464HaLeiViParticipantIt is much easier to play around with the Windows system. That can be a advantage or a disadvantage.
August 4, 2011 8:38 am at 8:38 am #794465ZachKessinMemberIn my case Linux. I have been running Linux as my primary desktop for 20 years. It is stable, virus free and oh yea *FREE*, as is most of the software. check out http://www.ubuntu.com/
August 4, 2011 1:21 pm at 1:21 pm #794466ItcheSrulikMemberI second Zach. I’ve been using Ubuntu for about 3-1/2 years. It’s great.
August 4, 2011 3:27 pm at 3:27 pm #794467Rubber DuckyMemberMacs have fewer problems with viruses than Windows machines. On average, they also suffer less from crashes. But there there are some software programs that are Windows-only, and although it’s possible to run these programs on a Mac, they will run more slowly.
I’ve used both, and Macs are more fun. 🙂
August 4, 2011 5:06 pm at 5:06 pm #794468MDGParticipantZachKessin,
Macs use a unix based operating system.
I’m not sure how much a user can get under the covers.
August 4, 2011 10:18 pm at 10:18 pm #794469twistedParticipantI don’t know what Jobs does with his money, and it is water under the bridge but there are horrible things about what Gates does, and there are ragliyim ledavar.
August 4, 2011 10:56 pm at 10:56 pm #794470ItcheSrulikMemberMDG: Basically, that makes OSX an expensive linux distro.
twisted: Gates gives more money to charity in a year than some countries’ GDP’s.

August 4, 2011 11:08 pm at 11:08 pm #794472so thereforeMemberthis is kind of a polarizing issue, i think.
I read a recent article about apple having more money than the us gov.
August 4, 2011 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm #794473ItcheSrulikMemberConsidering that the US government is more figures in the red than some of us are old that wouldn’t be too hard.
August 5, 2011 5:57 am at 5:57 am #794474ZachKessinMemberBill Gates has given away billions* of dollars. He has been a leader in the global fight to eliminate polio. While I have never been a fan of Microsoft or many of its products I will be the first to say Bill Gates has been using his vast fortune to make the world a better place!
Mind you I am still using Linux as my desktop.
*I think he has given away more than 30 Billion dollars via the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.
