well they take non jewish songs and change the words so if thats what you consider kosher than…….
they are using secular tunes, so they may not pass the yeshivish sniff test.

These young men are students at Yeshiva University which is not
“yeshivish”. It is a modern orthodox institution of higher learning. The whole world is not “yeshivish, or chasidishe, or any one type of Jew. We are all Jews. Children of HaShem. Boys, girls, Women and Men. Get over yourselves.

Are you drawing the line then between whom one may listen to, who one may speak to, etc. etc.? How do you know who here is yeshivish, chareidi or modern when you post a question or ask for advise. How do you know who is influencing you? Shall we each compartmentalize and go to our own corners? Should YU boys not listen to Avremel or MBD? There was a time when you couldn’t tell what MBD was. Should one be so selective that they only listen to one form of music, made in their own circles?
Well then if I went according to your thinking women should only listen to women’s music and not men’s CD’s.
aries-PB was trying to say that some people feel that such music isnt right for them to listen to. they dont lets say listen to non jewish music at all so why listen to the same song just with different words? to them its not really considered jewish music. but maybe other people with other views on things think its ok for them. let everyone do what they want!
Some discussions are offensive and tick of off many people because it shows a lack of ahavas yisroel. We have been through the ringer on many of these type of discussions and many people felt very hurt by them. Everyone has a right to do as they please, so by all means…… But when you start such a discussion it can be a dig and a nudge to start a controversial debate and cook people up for no reason at all. Good luck on your assignments.
