Do all shadchanim meet the singles they deal with? It seems obvious that meeting a person in person gives you a better idea and a piece of paper and photo just won’t cut it!
Also once you meet the shadchan keep up with them
it helps them jog their memory-sometimes you wonder if they can retain all their information—a regular ny shadchan gets 3 calls a minute no joke!
It’s always better to meet them. Also do something memorable.
Not like knocking over the vase, more like saying a good joke or line.

Obviously you have to make an initial phone call, but you should do your best to get an appointment for a personal interview. Once a shadchan has an opportunity to meet with you and see a bit of your personality as well as your overall appearance, it will have more of a lasting impression on them and give them an impetus to set you up.
If one has the opportunity to meet the shadchan then do it. It is better for you because then the shadchan will get a better feeling of who you are etc. By just talking on the phone, she will get some info, but by meeting in person she will also get to see your real personality. Also it’s easier to come up with a name when one sees another opposed to just talking on the phone.
