I think it is so much fun when we meet someone IRL who posts on or reads the CR. I went to an event last Motzai Shabbos, and was talking to a very friendly lady who had knowledge of future planned events at her shul. She offered to e-mail me to let me know about them, and when I gave her my e-mail address, she looked at it and asked if I post on the Yeshivah World News site. Turns out, she recognized my name from it, and is more a lurker than poster, but it was a still a nice coincidence to meet a stranger who is still somehow connected through the CR. So hi, Stranger/New Friend. It was nice talking to you.
There are no email addresses exchanged here.
On rare occasions they are.
or oomis’ email address can be very similar to her username
I met someone from the CR 2 weeks ago on friday night 😀
My suggestion – if someone does try to contact someone from the CR, you should identify yourself by your CR name, so the person will know who you are.
I’ve met with a few people here in real life, and they were wonderful experiences. Interestingly enough, I was able to do this even with living hundreds of miles away from the vast majority of members here.
Middle: Did you travel hundreds of miles to meet them or did they travel hundreds of miles to meet you?
Naysberg, I traveled.
I know two regular readers from Gateshead and one abroad (and I think there may be others as well). Actually, I guess I’m quite famous.
Not that that’s a good thing…
I know for a fact that there are more people than will admit that know who I am IRL. The other direction, I know who a few people and lurkers are IRL.
