Bloomberg cracked down on:
Smoking +1
Metzitza b’peh -1
Trans fats, salt and large, sugary drinks -1
Styrofoam -1
Loud Earphones +1
So he’s now at -1 according to my count.

and so, your credibility as a poster just plummeted.

Why are you against the styrofoam thing? If it truly saves money and doesnt inconvenience us its a good thing no?
Torah
Except he couldn’t care less about you. Its all about his ego and being in control and being able to say he did________. Hes a cold unfeeling fish.
March 8, 2013 12:08 am at 12:08 am #935083Torah613TorahParticipantWIY: I’m not so sure. He does spend all his money on NYC, and I believe he sincerely is trying to do what HE thinks is best for the people’s health. He’s just misguided.
March 8, 2013 3:34 am at 3:34 am #935084yehudayonaParticipantA ban on foam cups might save NYC money, but it will have an adverse effect on the environment. When all the environmental impacts are accounted for, paper cups are worse than foam cups.
March 8, 2013 5:10 am at 5:10 am #935085MammeleParticipantWhere do you get that he spends all his money on NYC? If I remember correctly he donated a lot recently to some global cause with Bill Gates.
But that’s irrelevant in any case. Adding regulation upon regulation isn’t good for business or residents, enforcement costs money as well and it eventually hurts New York’s bottom line.
March 8, 2013 5:17 am at 5:17 am #935086commonsenseParticipantAs you can see from above everyone has their own agenda. The beauty of freedom is that we get to choose for ourselves the things we want to do or not do. Legislating all these narishkeiten takes away from that freedom and leads down a very slippery slope.
March 8, 2013 6:08 am at 6:08 am #935087sharpMembercommonsense, I’m with you on that one. Well put.
