(Mods u can take this part out im just explaining the point of my thread and why its different that recent ones, those where comparing yeshivos and this one is to get details on a specific yeshiva and get the more in depth answers) can anyone tell me details about this yeshiva, What type of people does it attract? How is the learning? What is the strictness level? How are the living accommodations? Where do people go after? How Long do they stay in the yeshiva? Do people go to college after? What is the neighborhood like? Where do people usually come from (High Schools)

I can only tell you from what I know from when I was in Israel over 6 years ago. A Yeshiva changes and it’s not enough to go on. From what I understand the Yeshivatakes boys from various backgrounds who are intelligent and want to grow but are not really learning yet. I would say almost all boys come from black hat families but there are a few non hat wearers. The learning is on a solid level and there are a few shiurim first and second year I dont know about 3rd. Some shiurim are harder some easier but they work with you. Every shiur has its own shoel umaishiv to ask questions and help the bachurim in their learning or to stam be there for them as a friend. The Yeshivais a warm place very the staff are all top notch, accommodations are tops for Israel nice rooms decent size. The food is pretty good as well. I They Yeshiva used to be compared to a hotel because it was geared towards rich families and the accommodations were on a high level. The tuition isn’t cheap but not everyone who goes there is wealthy and I’m sure they will work with you.

Most guys come out of there significantly better than when they entered. Some guys flip out and become Yeshivish or just really serious bnei Torah who go on to the Mir and end up in kollel after marriage. TypicalMercaz guys stay in Israel1-3 years (most guys actually stay at least 2 years) and then go back to America and enter a yeshiva/college program.

The yeshiva is in Talpiot which is a quiet area of a more upper class retired or close to it non frum Israelis. Nice area away from everything but a 15 minute cab ride gets you to wherever you need to go like geulah or the Mir…

It wasn’t overly strict back in the day but they had a curfew that you had to be back by the Yeshiva by 12. They may have cracked down since then but there’s a dorm counselor who lives on premises in mercazare at least that’s what it used to be) and he keeps an eye on things and tries to get guys to go to sleep at a decent hour.

I think you should try to get in touch with the Yeshiva and speak to them about any other questions. Its a good place and I know people who really turned it around there. The guys who turn around in mercaz are from the most solid grounded bnei Torah around. They have a great reputation in the Mir.
