Rabbeinu haKadosh, the nachal noivaya mekoir chochma told his chassidim “HaRosh Hashana sheli oileh AL HAKOL”

many chassidim tried to travel to the heiliger kibbutz this year, and they either had to leave their homes many weeks before, or try to come bederech loi derch.

to their amazement the Israeli government involved themselves in a foreign country’s internal affairs, and despite unbeleivable offers the European land borders – generally open – were celiberatley closed.

יתיצבו מלכי ארץ ורוזנים נוסדו יחד על ה’ ועל משיחו

    HOWEVER

יושב בשמים ישחק ה’ ילעג למו

As the goyishe “chaga” approached, Hashem closed again the land borders, organised lockdowns -many who wanted to be with their families had to leave weeks early, otherwise were delayed at generally open borders, yet others spent chogo in their trucks.

As Bobby always said גאט בלייבט נישט שולדיג

I tried looking up that maamar chazal, couldn’t find it? Which mishna? Are you sure it Rabbeinu haKadosh, not, say Rebbe Akiva or Rebbe Yehoshua?

I had to Google “מקור חכמה נחל” because I had literally no idea what this post was about.

I think the Israeli government acted responsibly. Going to Uman isn’t being עולה רגל (l’havdil). It’s a nice thing based on the popular Chassidishe minhag of davening by the Rebbe on ימים נוראים. In the midst of a massive pandemic, I don’t think anyone can deny that travel was best left restricted. As we saw, even opening shuls was difficult and many people had to daven outside (or not with a minyan at all!) and even so there was a spike in COVID-19 cases.

The Berditchever ztz’l on kol nidrei night went through the shul looking under the tables. The chasiddim were wondering what was he looking for? When he finished, he went to the bima and said, Ribonei Shel Olam, you gave the Jews a day when there is a mitzva to eat but I cannot find one drunk under the table whereas the umas haolam on their new year drink themselves under the table. We look backwards at our Rosh Hashana to learn what improvements we can make for the New Year whereas they look ahead and say, should old acquaintance be forgot and let bygones be bygones.

@RR44, cant say I take any of your posting seriously because all of them seem to have a immature bucherisher slant to them

You are entitled to your opinion – but many feel we would have acheived more by going to Uman

RR44 – what you would have achieved is really irrelevant. There was a health risk to their country and it wasn’t an option this year. We accept Hashem’s yisurim bahava.

Hate to break it to you, the goishe “chaga” means and plays very little in the hold land.

we feel that what we have acheived would be mematek the dinim, and thereby lower the health risk for everyone.

Rabbeinu said that had the goyim understood what the seventy oxen achieve in the beis hamikdash they would never have destroyed it, and one of Rabbeinu’s main messages was that we continuously under estimate the unbelievable importance of our own avoida.

Additionally lease do not forget Maran R’ Matisyahu Salomon’s famous words about the zionist government “וואס האבען זיי אויפגעטאהן אז זיי געראטעווערט די ילדי טהרן אונד זיי אללע אופגעשמ-ד. מיר וייסען אז גדול המחטיאו יותר מן ההורגו”

    No one was discussing E”Y

E”Y’s borders have been closed sincd Purim.

The european land borders have been closed TWICE ONLY during Corona – once before rosh Hashan and once before the goyishe chogo.

    הלא דבר הוא

BTW Europeans don’t celebrate thanksgiving so now is one of their only festivlas.

The comparison between people who make a chuga around traveling to a gravesite on R”H, and last week’s goyishe chuga is an apt one.

One can never compare anything a yid does – even a mundane act as eating or sleeping – to things done a goy.

Therefore one cannot make a comparison between a goyishe chuga and anything done by yidden.

Additionally the yidden who travel are basing themselves on the teachings of a gadol – R’ Nachman, and have included many Gedoilei Yisoel – including R’ yaakov Meir Shechter and R’ Tzvi Cheshin shlit”a

with all due respect, although i cannot deny the facts you are saying, i don’t know if anyone in our generation can be masig the cheshboinois of shmonayim.

My rebbi;s always pointed out that boaz was niftar the night after he married rus, and there were undoubtedly those who were convinced it was because he martied a moavis unlike the standard ruling until then.

Yishai had doubts as Boaz died, thereby thinking that he has relationship with a shifcha. His wife took her place which she never revealed to him from which David Hamelech emerged. Shmuel Hanovi, later ruled with his beis din that a moavis was not included in the prohibition.
