My father was niftar earlier this week, and was buried at Eretz HaChaim, near Beit Shemesh. The Chevra Kadisha went by Minhag Yerushalayim, and did something that I have never seen or heard of before. Before placing my father in the kever, they placed him on the ground nearby, and then danced 7 hakafot around him while reciting psukim. Can anyone explain this to me?

    Thank you

First of all they didn’t dance, they just made hakafot. And actually the psukim they recited are from this weeks parsha. It is based on Kabbalah.
