    As I will soon be moving to the Chicago area (next week actually), was wondering if anyone here is from chicago and can give me any advise or tell me anything I wouldn’t have known….

    I know don’t worry its a suburb of Chicago and only temporary. We’ll be renting…..I still recommend to everyone to live in a small town if possible.

    Don’t worry, im not moving to Chicago to start a revolution for all orthodox Jews to become brain washed by secular feminist tv shows.

    I have to move there anyway for my interview.

    Mod, I specifically asked for the hunter to precede troll and be hunter of trolls for this very reason, when I saw you change it to troll hunter, I knew thats where you were going.

    Anyway, how about a compromise, I will stop coming to the coffee room and wont post anymore…. and you delete my subtitle?

    I think thats a fair deal for everyone.

    Hey, I was going to say that you must go to Romanian. They have the best pastrami, hot dogs and chopped liver. We have it brought to us overseas whenever possible.

    I on the other hand, agree to continue coming to the coffee room, even though some posters are deliberately mean and insulting to me.

    My experience with Chicago — since arriving here as a single “Bochur” 39 years ago — has been:

    * The Orthodox Jewish community of Chicago is among the best for Hachnossas Orchim (i.e., welcoming strangers).

    * This is true of all segments: Chassidic, Lithuanian, Modern Orthodox, etc.

    * Just walk into any Shul, Bais Medrash, Kollel… and see for yourself.

    * If your experience parallels mine, you will get multiple greetings, multiple invitations for Shabbos…

    Try Tein-Li-Chow’s Spicy Chicken Peanut Salad 🙂 As a guy who likes peanuts, it’s not expensive and really good.

    Second all those who mentioned Romanian.

    If you are moving from a swing state, wait until after November 8th to move, as Illinois is always democrat.
