Can someone recommend a good lawyer/company that specializes in fighting NYC moving violations? Based on experience please.
Thanks!

I actually once used them. It didn’t work. They might be great but perhaps the cop was even greater, in my case. Either way, they are very nice people so you can give’em a call.
January 9, 2012 7:55 pm at 7:55 pm #842571ill_be_strongParticipantAnd who might that be?
January 9, 2012 9:27 pm at 9:27 pm #842572popa_bar_abbaParticipantI have used Terri Kalker. She is a frum lady. She will probably defer your hearing a million times until she gets the judge she likes.
When I used her a year and a half ago for a right turn without signaling, she charged me 125 for the case, and got it dismissed about a month ago. The ticket was 130, but this way I escaped with no points. (I think the usual rate at that time was actually 150, but the receptionist gave me a discount- I don’t know why.)
Her number is 718-275-0780.

June 25, 2018 10:29 am at 10:29 am #1545939icemelterParticipantIt seems ywn has been hacked would all threads getting pushed away
June 25, 2018 4:28 pm at 4:28 pm #1546156HealthParticipantTo do this cheaply – go to the court w/o a lawyer & say – “Guilty with an exuse. – I never did this before – I have been driving many years. I’m very sorry.”
A lot of times the Judge will lower the cost & get rid of the points.June 25, 2018 5:55 pm at 5:55 pm #1546198icemelterParticipantHealth-“To do this cheaply – go to the court w/o a lawyer & say – “Guilty with an exuse. – I never did this before – I have been driving many years. I’m very sorry.”

Accept the mystery.
June 25, 2018 7:32 pm at 7:32 pm #1546231GadolhadorahParticipantWhy do we assume all “moving violations” are a scam and wrongfully issued. While lawyers pride themselves in getting you off with minimal fines and points, consider how often we read here of tragedies resulting from failure to stop for a school bus,, driving in bike lanes, failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk etc. Contrary to popular belief, the traffic laws have a purpose other than raising revenues for the City Treasury.
June 25, 2018 7:33 pm at 7:33 pm #1546234icemelterParticipant👑RebYidd23-“What do you mean by threads being pushed away?”
Yesterday or whenever there were like 10 hacked threads that managed to make their way into the system, causing all other threads to be pushed down and out of sight. This is after YWN made the change where it doesnt show pending threads or titles, but those hacker threads showed name, title, and comments and were not even pending they were actually posted. Weird.
But funnier than that id Health’s comment. I cant tell if they were joking on this one. In a way its so crazy that it might actually work. Probably not though.

No, I’m Not! If you do something dangerous, like passing a Red-light School bus, the book should be thown at you. But if you do something minor, like not coming to a full stop by a Stop Sign, you can get the points & fine – Reduced!

-Right, by walking in and saying “hey guys im here, sorry about that I wont do it again, lets just get on with life and reduce my fine and you know what else, l-l-lets, lets just get rid of those points while we’re at it. What do you say?” Im sure that will work especially in the NY traffic courts. I mean after all they dont care about money do they? Your apology is all they need.

If you go with an attitude – you won’t get anywhere. If you say – I missed judged the Stop sign & and my
record is clean – they will reduce the fine & points. -
