I have a complaint against a specific citi bus driver. Does anyone have an idea who i can turn to? I was riding the B8 this morning (the 18th Av. route), I did not have exact change with me so i went to the back of the bus to fetch it. when i came back to the driver with the money i got a yelling in front of the whole bus, for something that i couldn’t make out. OK, I swallowed it.
Now listen to this, a few stops later as the driver was getting ready to pull out of the bus stop, someone appeared and wanted to get on. The nasty driver saw him but decided for some reason to pull away, leaving him behind as if he didn’t exist. No one on the bus said a word! I was shocked! Did anyone have the same experience? If yes, let’s try to make our voices heard!

FYI, no bus driver has to let you on and can tell you to leave, if you can’t pay the fare right away. He doesn’t have to let you get change. (Most are nice and do.) Secondly, as soon as the bus closes his door or if he didn’t open it because noone was standing there and started moving away (even an inch), he is not allowed to stop again and pick someone up. (Again, most are nice and will stop.) Learn the regs. before you complain! Maybe don’t break the rules and cause a chillul Hashem.
December 9, 2010 4:48 am at 4:48 am #715928deiyezoogerMemberIts common practice for the bus driver to ignore people waiting for the bus. it happens all the time.

A FREILACHIN CHANUKAH TO ALL! This yom tov should be a zchus to outlaw all the current tzoros to bring Mashiach b’karov!

NormansonMemberTo the person that remarked that the driver’s action was legal, I agree that not having exact change warrants ‘a no entry'(allthough, I wouldn’t call ‘not having change’ a chilull hashem!). But can you explain to me why running to catch a bus in freezing cold weather is “Breaking the rules”? And having the door slammed in your face is a “Chilull Hashem”? Is this a coommunist country?
Whenever I travel to Israel i’m amazed by the Achdus on the busses, passengers always stick up for each other. If anyone spots a person running towards the bus, they make the driver stop the bus to let them get on! you know what i call that….. A Kiddush Hashem….
December 10, 2010 4:21 am at 4:21 am #715932HealthParticipantThe chillul Hashem & breaking the rules were getting on the bus without change, if you do it all the time. In Israel, anything goes, here most drivers follow the regs.; which I’ll repeat, since you are having a hard time grasping them, – not to stop to pick someone up once they close the door or move out of the bus stop!
