I can be playing the same CD in my car or CD player for months on end, literally, without ever changing it. When the musician asked me what to play by my chasuna, I told him whatever’s kosher. I don’t know one song or singer from the next (almost). Am I normal? Am I missing something? Or is this just how some (a lot?) people are? Should I try changing?

And just to add some perspective, I do enjoy music. Though I don’t often listen to music. And even though I don’t care too much difference between one and the next, I do enjoy classical music (I.e. Beethoven, Mozart, etc.) the most. Other than that I don’t listen to anything non-Jewish. And I do like MBD more than anyone else, though that is probably the only specific singer I care for specifically. And I do enjoy “old” Yiddish niggunim over other stuff.

And for what it’s worth, I don’t enjoy wine/alcohol much. It actually upsets my stomach after more than a second cup. I’ve never gotten drunk in my life (or even close to it). I can’t drink more than a touch of whiskey. And I very rarely do “fun”/enjoyable/entertainment stuff. I’d much rather read the news or listen to talk radio, which I am frequently doing to the exclusion of much else.

    So let the psychoanalysis begin.
