I have this car,and I was wondering if anyone knows how to engage the AWD system (All Wheel Drive). I looked in the manual and allmit says is that the AWD system is good in the snow, mud etc. But it doesn’t say how to actually turn it on! Does this mean that it’s always on?

I would love to hear from people who have experience with this car. Thank you.

AWD means its a full time use. when it needs to, it switches automatically.

Thanx arc,so that means when( if) I venture out in this mess it will automatically sense when I need the extra traction?

If you have vehicle-stability assistance, you may have to disengage if you are trying to get out of a snow drift, or your parking spot….

AWD knows on its own and will disconnect the VSA or traction control automatically that is one of the mailos over 4WD.

Thanx again, arc! You’re giving me confidence to venture out!

not all cars turn off VSA automatically. There should be a button to the left of the steering wheel to turn it off, if you’re car doesn’t (and I assume a Mazda probably doesn’t)

With men, it is the technology itself that is the fun and the purpose. With women, it is so you can get somewhere.

well,i just want you to know that hubby attempted to drive the kids to school today in above car,and he didnt get too far. this wonderful AWD vehicle actually doesnt work as well as it should and im very disappointed. we got stck 3 times while going around the corner! and it wasnt easy to get unstuck either. hubby promptly parked said car and called his brother for a lift for the kids!

now,can someone please tell me how to operate this car in the snow?

mazda did say to disengage the ESC electronic stability control-but to not do it so often as that will burn out the tires…

    help!

    Please remember:

Having more drive wheels helps you to not get stuck, since you have more wheels which can propel the car.

But, it does not help you brake. You will skid just as bad as my Honda civic. So please slow down.

P-B-A-no need for me to slow down as i havent gone anywhere in my car for a week!! as far as walking,im a little wobbly anyway in all these snow mountains,so im not even walking that fast!

    good shabbos!
