The time to apply to seminary is around the corner and i am seriously thinking about these two. Can i have some information about them, especially Nachlas, as it is newer i dont really know so much about it. ie: what type of girls go there? academics?
Nachlas is really, really warm and down-to-earth. They try to help the girls grow in a grounded way without fluff….The girls are a massive mix – the first day e/o is always wondering what is going on cause it seems so random but in the end e/o learns to appreciate each other. There are a lot of out-of-towners and the girls usually also apply to BJJ, Hadar, BYA, Bnos Chava, Masores Rochel. I think it’s more academic than Seminar and prob also warmer but I didn’t go to Seminar so can’t help with that. Seminar might also have more of a range of frumkeit…
i went to seminar and semgrad is right. there is definately a bigger range in frumkeit in seminar. i dont know about the academics in nachlas but seminar is academic but EXTREMELY manageable. (im not an A student at all, and i did pretty well there.) the teachers in seminar are seriously AWESOME and they are TOTALLY approachable. nothing shocks them. there are girls from all four corners of the earth, the dorm is okay, nice lounge to relax in with a piano……pretty good food and THE BEST TIYULIM!!!!! and seriously the BEST STAFF ULL EVER FIND!!!!! also, one thing that i really LOVED about seminar was that everyone was friends with everyone else. its like one big happy family……..
