women of the CR:
How many of you wear the same black skirt everyday?
October 22, 2013 6:08 pm at 6:08 pm #983254streekgeekParticipantEither my black one or my grey one. Every day. Any other color would shter my shidduchim.
October 22, 2013 6:18 pm at 6:18 pm #983255🐵 ⌨ GamanitParticipantUsually. It’s hard to find skirts with pockets, so I wear the few that do.
October 22, 2013 6:32 pm at 6:32 pm #983256🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI do, but I have three of them.
October 22, 2013 6:46 pm at 6:46 pm #983257SanityIsOverratedParticipantI resent the implication that only Nashim Tzidkaniyos wear the same black skirt. I wear the black skirt, but for ulterior motives. I’m too lazy to spend time choosing a whole outfit in the morning. It’s easier to just wear black. Don’t always assume it’s for a righteous cause!
October 22, 2013 7:27 pm at 7:27 pm #983258eclipseMemberI wear black skirts all the time
but all different styles
all modest, of course:)
October 22, 2013 9:22 pm at 9:22 pm #983259SecularFrummyMemberI prefer doing laundry over wearing the same article of clothing daily.
October 22, 2013 9:42 pm at 9:42 pm #983260writersoulParticipantI do.
Actually, I have three black school skirts. I alternate.
For the summer, I have five long black slinky skirts. Long black slinky skirts are a sleepaway camp counselor’s best friend.
October 22, 2013 9:48 pm at 9:48 pm #983261sem613ParticipantI have 3 or 4 black skirts that I wear, but generally once I take one out I’ll wear it a few days, leaving it on the chair overnight, before putting it back in the closet and picking a different one
October 22, 2013 10:47 pm at 10:47 pm #983262🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantSecular- I do laundry AND wear the same skirt everyday.
October 22, 2013 11:07 pm at 11:07 pm #983263iknoMemberi switch off between my denim and black dress skirts every day…. i always hope my students dont get bored of them because i haven’t found any other ones that i like…:)
good question!
October 22, 2013 11:20 pm at 11:20 pm #983264rcParticipantevery day of the week, guilty as charged!! Including Shabbos and Yom Tov!!
October 22, 2013 11:25 pm at 11:25 pm #983265OURtorahParticipantall my skirts are black except for some shabbis skirts 🙂
October 22, 2013 11:25 pm at 11:25 pm #983266imamomMemberguilty as charged. Many skirts, all black. Some slinky, some not. All black. All the time. BORING but very very practical. Not a middas chassidus or a siman of tzidkus but rather a siman of practicality (black is slimming).
October 23, 2013 12:14 am at 12:14 am #983267from Long IslandParticipantSorry, I hate the “black” frum look. I almost never wear black, I like colors, purple, blue, green, etc.
October 23, 2013 1:12 am at 1:12 am #983268SecularFrummyMemberSyag- So you either do laundry every day or don’t include the skirt in said laundry.
October 23, 2013 2:40 am at 2:40 am #983270oomisParticipantMy black skirts go with everything. I don’t wear black for any reason other than I happen to like black skirts. Also, it’s very slimming…
October 23, 2013 3:10 am at 3:10 am #983271kkls45MemberI wear both black skirts as well as skirts with lots of color. I hop that I am still eisha tzidkania even with the colored skirts..
October 23, 2013 3:24 am at 3:24 am #983272🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantSf- we do one to two loads a day. I usually change into something else while I wash everything at once
October 23, 2013 5:46 am at 5:46 am #983273eclipseMemberfrom Long Island: black skirts can be worn with tops every color of the rainbow!!
October 23, 2013 1:54 pm at 1:54 pm #983274streekgeekParticipantAnd my question is now: To all those who posted on this thread – Do you think of yourselves as nashim tzidkaniyos?
October 23, 2013 6:50 pm at 6:50 pm #983275🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantSg- I actually laughed about that thought the first time I posted.
October 23, 2013 6:56 pm at 6:56 pm #983276SanityIsOverratedParticipantNope. I wouldn’t even begin to describe myself as such. Please don’t get me mixed up with the righteous women in our generation. It will only serve as a dishonor to their incredible work.
October 23, 2013 11:29 pm at 11:29 pm #983277writersoulParticipantIdunno if I am… I’ll leave that to others to figure out in my ArtScroll biography 🙂 (sorry, I’m just coming off that thread).
I really only have black skirts and a cream skirt for under Shabbos dresses. I wear cool, colorful, exuberant tops, though :). Black is just so quick and easy.
October 24, 2013 2:46 am at 2:46 am #983278whats_in_a_nameMemberLOL 🙂
October 24, 2013 1:10 pm at 1:10 pm #983279streekgeekParticipantThanks for clarifying. Cuz here I thought I chanced upon a whole group of lamid vavniks…oh well.
October 24, 2013 2:56 pm at 2:56 pm #983280miritchkaMemberlol! Isnt it nuts how so many women wear black? and its not just skirts…I’m guilty as charged too! I mainly have black.
As i was growing up everyone around me always wore black. I have a more conservative style black, white and grays were my colors from when i was a teen. I do like colors and started to venture out of my comfort zone. however, my skirts stay black…
Used to be that the mens section at a wedding was all black and white with the womens section being a colorful array of outfits. Now, they are both about the same…
October 28, 2013 1:23 pm at 1:23 pm #983281sem613ParticipantJewish women have always been described of nashim tzidkaniyos without needing to isolate a few as the best ones.
