What do we think about the pros/cons of Neo-Chassidus? Especially, the geshmak music that is being mechazek a lot of chevra.

    It’s entertainment. And a fad.

If to you ‘it’s especially the music’, yourro probably unaware of all the real pros/cons.

Music, wearing a gartel, and knowing a few chasidish stories doesn’t make you a chasid. You either follow one fully or you’re just straggling along.

It’s a great example of “Feel Good Judaism”, where people believe that anything which gives you a warm fuzzy feeling is bringing you closer to Hashem.

Try the Troller Rebbeh, he has the biggest following,

Is it really just a fad? In plenty of Shuls, new positions like mashpia are popping up everywhere.

Already the posters are denying (or ignorant) of the real issues.

    Its all in the Shtreimlach!!
What misnagid has not walked by a chosid bedecked in a 16 inch fur headpiece delicately balanced on his head on a hot summer day along with a beautifully tailored bekishe and not experienced a deep sense of envy and anguish about not having been born into yiddeshe royalty. Its not just feel-good niggunim.

    Ujm,
The exact same thing was said about Chasidism even long after it was firmly established.

Kuvult a lot of it still holds true.

I think you should all research the names Gershom Scholem and Martin Buber and then come back here and opine on neo-chassidis.

    Dear Besalel,

That was my point. Except that it would be three generations behind. There is a lot of these elements even in non hassidic circles. Modern thought is rough.
