    I understand R’ Ovadia shilta is very ill, but why did they add a name to his name? Are we supposed to be add a name to every old person who is close to death?

    What planet are you on?? I general whenever someone is dangerously ill they add a name to him/her

    Really? I know it’s done for young people who are dangerously ill. I don’t think I’ve heard of any examples of people older than 80 (or even 70) who received a new name for being dangerously ill… other than Gedolim.
