i know a lot of people are getting their information about seminaries on here, and i just wanted to remind people to be careful about lashon hara nad motzei shem ra. i have seen several posts about various places that were definitely not true, at least for the majority. please do not make generalizations about a place based on the information that you have about yours sister’s friend’s cousin who is there and might have said somethign in passing. i’d rather not be specific, but there is so much lashon hara and so much motzei shem ra flying around if you really want information, call somebody who is there now, or speak to someone who was there last year.

also, when emailing/chatting with your friends or whatever, be careful what you say. i googled my seminary in order to see something, and my name came up in a conversation on twitter or buzz or something like that (i don’t know these things! :D) it was an innocent conversation, one that didn’t really have anything to do with me or my seminary, but at what point it was mentioned that i was going to place x and there were a few comments made regarding my choice and the “fit.” b”H i’m back after an awesome year, and nothing ever came of it, and i actually only found it last week, but what if someone also going had found it by googling in our seminarys name, seen it, and drawn wrong conclusions? ya, lashon hara even applies on the internet, and can be worse cuz it never gets erased and chances are that anybody can find it…

basically, just be careful! it’s important to have info about where your going. it’s even more important not to speak lashon hara or motzei shem ra. b’hatzlacha!
