So you are saying Hashem didnt let the animals wipe them out?
I was thinking that maybe they whole mitzrayim became a war zone and they went after and hunted all the animals to kill them and they actually killed the animals but there were many casualties.

It is such an excellent book and makes it so alive and real. I hope to get a chance to read his chapter on the makka of arov again and tell you if he has anything that answers your question.

I’m not saying anything. Actually I had no time for other makkos, I was totaly intent on my own special one… jumping into ovens…
There are a lot of medrashim on these makkos. Many say the animals wreaked havoc on people too, while not totally decimating them. ???? ???? means total obliteration of the land, place. Reading their ancient accounts available to us today, suggest that what the Torah writes explicitly, was actually far, far worse.
Rabbi Miller zt”l writes, the name of the makko is orov – mixture. Had a band of tigers been let loose, folks could have sought some sort of relief, alleviation. Same with a pack of lions, elehpants. HaShem sent a MIXTURE of rabid, wild animals, each one competing, clashing with his mates-at-work, each one contesting with the multitudes of other types and lifestyles. This is what caused total chaos, pandemonium, general destruction.
