I felt like venting some of my feelings towards a few of the local radio personalities.
Top of the list that gets on my nerves is 880’s Joe Connolly of The Wall Street Journal. He never says anything useful – 99% of the time its “Some say blah blah blah” or “Many say blah blah blah” or “I was talking to one business owner and he said blah blah blah”.
Susan Waldman – No offence but I don’t care for a nerdy lady announcing baseball.
Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Steve Malzberg – Boring, day in day out the same boring politics.
Mike Savage – Funny and on the ball most of the time but not the anniv he thinks he is.
I like some of the experts like Ralph Snodsmith (710 am) Sunday mornings and Ric Edelman (770 am)
Curtis Sliwa – is funny
John Gambling – straight shooterSeptember 10, 2009 2:59 pm at 2:59 pm #658380
I used to love listening to the Curtis and Kuby show in the mornings on 770am; I thought it was an awesome and really funny show. When Imus took over that morning slot, I stopped listening and switched to the Johm Gambling show on 710am, who’s pretty good, though not as funny as Curtis & Kuby used to be.
My favorite one of all time is Michael Savage.. and though, yes, he’s not an annav, I think he’s absolutely hysterical, and I like that he’s not glued to one political party, like Rush, Sean, Levin and Malzberg are.September 10, 2009 3:08 pm at 3:08 pm #658381
If you want something interesting, you gotta come here. Too bad the CR doesnt speak though :-/September 10, 2009 3:20 pm at 3:20 pm #658382JosephParticipant
Personally, the only personality I find original, entertaining and generally correct about the issues is Limbaugh. And he is an Ohev Yisroel to boot. Hannity is too predictable, and Savage is a foul-mouthed shrill.September 10, 2009 3:24 pm at 3:24 pm #658383
I don’t know, I just find Limbaugh too much of a big shot.. “on loan from Gd, with one hand tied behind my back..” Even though I know he’s supposedly joking, I just find that he likes himself too much.September 10, 2009 3:31 pm at 3:31 pm #658384JosephParticipant
the.nurse: You are correct. Though I haven’t found anyone too much better in that respect.September 10, 2009 3:43 pm at 3:43 pm #658385squeakParticipant

Michael Savage is definitely the best. Steve Malzberg, John Gambling, pretty good.
I find Ronald Hoffman VERY knowledgeable, its a pretty good show.
the.nurse wont like this but, Michael Colomeco (foodtalk) is ok too. (sorry, nurse)September 10, 2009 5:38 pm at 5:38 pm #658388jewishsoulMember
Dr. Joe cracks me up! I love people who can talk about a boring subject and still be amusing.September 10, 2009 7:25 pm at 7:25 pm #658390

striving, yes it provides a little fun diversion on some common ground.
kapusta, that Hoffman show on late every night IMHO has got to be the most boring show on air and I am stunned that they have nothing better to put on.
“Religion on line” sometimes gives me a laugh Sunday mornings on my way to my chavrusa.September 10, 2009 10:22 pm at 10:22 pm #658395September 10, 2009 10:30 pm at 10:30 pm #658396chofetzchaimMember
Good evening to you and how you be? It’s 6:31 and 56 seconds (factor in your own 7 second delay) and we’re getting ready for a 2 hour shmooz…September 10, 2009 10:37 pm at 10:37 pm #658397September 10, 2009 10:56 pm at 10:56 pm #658398
may i ask why this thread was approved? is this the type of thing that belongs on a jewish yeshiva website? i think its a busha to all of you guys. sorry, but this is my opinion.September 11, 2009 12:19 am at 12:19 am #658399
sorry to disagree, but it is not a busha at all. i’m not sure what you find wrong with listening to talk radio, but if it’s not your thing, don’t listen. on the same token, i don’t think it’s appropriate to comment that it’s a ‘busha’. some people might say that posting comments online is a busha, but obviously you must not think so because you comment on the CR. so, as long as there is nothing halachacly wrong, i say different strokes for different folks.September 11, 2009 2:59 pm at 2:59 pm #658400

the.nurse, i am sorry that i voiced my opinion. i didnt mean do say i think its wrong to listen to the radio, just this discussion doesnt seem to appropiate for this website. thats all.September 11, 2009 7:49 pm at 7:49 pm #658402
ames, sorry. Rush too… Mark Levin a little, but not as much.
sunflower, nothing wrong with voicing your opinion. Your entitled to think whatever you like about anything. Maybe its not what the CR should be discussing, but IMO calling it a busha is a little too strong. I’m sure there are people who are much better off discussing this here than doing something else. Everything’s relative. Sorry if I was too harsh, mochel? 🙂
k, lets go back on topic now.September 11, 2009 8:47 pm at 8:47 pm #658403JaxMember
