March 28, 2012 2:53 pm at 2:53 pm #862998Sam2ParticipantI once met a family who doesn’t eat Gebrochts and who holds that potatoes are Kitniyos “just in case”, to use his words. I honestly don’t know what they eat.
March 28, 2012 4:10 pm at 4:10 pm #862999ImaofthreeParticipantyou obviously have not been to a pesach hotel that is non gebruchts! Delicious food and my kids never complained they were hungry.

its for all those shabassos where we don’t 😛
March 28, 2012 5:50 pm at 5:50 pm #863004Shticky GuyParticipantNot to eat potatoes ‘just in case’ is wrong. Plain wrong. I know some people wont even drink water unless its been passed by a rabbi. But not to eat potatoes is crazy. The whole kitniyos thing is already a chumra. Taking on ‘stupid chumras like that’ (words of my LOR) of not eating potatoes place undue pressure on the entire family.
March 28, 2012 5:50 pm at 5:50 pm #863005popa_bar_abbaParticipantI’m more concerned with having what to eat until pesach.
The year that the Terri Shiavo incident was occurring, it was right around pesach. My family was walking around saying we were “starving like Terri”. (Because they pulled her feeding tube and starved her to death).
March 28, 2012 6:35 pm at 6:35 pm #863006bp27ParticipantI always feel that there is nothing to eat BEFORE Pesach. Not a scrap of anything to eat at home!
